LAHORE:

Three Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) activists and a police constable were injured in a brawl over wall chalking in Old Anakali police precincts on Friday night.

Three IJT activists were drawing on the walls of Government College University when they were told to stop by personnel of the Muhafiz Squad. A scuffle ensued and the students left. But they returned shortly with more than a hundred IJT activists.

A huge brawl began and the Muhafiz Force personnel called for back up. The four policemen were beaten up and tried to run away with the IJT activists giving chase and firing their guns in the air. The deputy superintendent of Old Anarkali police arrived at the scene with reinforcements and was able to calm the students.

Three activists and Constable Muhammad Khayyam were injured. No FIR was lodged concerning the incident at Old Anarkali police station, ASI Sarwar told The Express Tribune.
