Thanks to OPC: Expat gets possession of plot

The housing scheme administration promised that the plot would be handed over to him in 2013

LAHORE: An expatriate Pakistani has recovered possession of his plot after efforts of four years of Overseas Pakistanis Commission.

The plot was worth Rs5 million and belonged to Shahid Mehmood. In this regard, Overseas Pakistanis Commission Vice Chairperson Shaheen Khalid Butt and Commissioner Afzaal Bhatti informed that Mehmood was settled in Canada and filed a complaint that he purchased a plot in a private housing scheme of Lahore and paid all the installments.

The housing scheme administration promised that the plot would be handed over to him in 2013 but he was yet to receive the plot. Shaheen Khalid Butt and Afzaal Bhatti said that Overseas Pakistanis Commission contacted the administration of the said housing scheme and ensured the provision of plot to this overseas Pakistani.

They further said that expatriate Pakistanis can contact OPC any time for their complaints to be addressed.
