Road crash leaves four dead, 16 injured

Four of a family were travelling in a car when a Sialkot bound bus collided with their vehicle

SARGODHA: Four people, including two women, were killed while another 16 suffered injuries in a road accident in Jauhrabad police limits on Monday.

According to police, four members of a family, identified as Fateh Bibi, Muhammad Irfan and Kausar Bibi, were travelling in a car Sunday evening when a speeding Silakot bound Bus (GAV-928) collided with the car near College Phatak Jauhrabad.

Consequently, four persons including car driver named Husnain Ahmad, Fateh Bibi, Irfan and Kausar Bibi, died on the spot while 16 passengers travelling in the bus, including Sher Muhammad, Muhammad Tariq, Danial, Qaisar, Najeeb Ahmad, Ahmad Din,Israr and others were injured. The bus driver fled from the spot. Rescue 1122 shifted the injured to THQ hospital Jauhrabad.

In a separate incident, two men were killed in separate road accidents in Satellite Town and Jauhrabad police limits on Monday.

Police sources said that Muhammad Imtiaz was driving a rickshaw on Faisalabad Road when a  speeding coach driven by unknown person hit the rickshaw near Chak 50/NB. Imtiaz died on the spot while the accused fled.

In another incident, a speeding truck hit to death a motorcyclist, identified as Muhammad Sajid, 20, of village 15 Wali Pully, Grout road and fled. Police registered separate cases.
