Cracker Bombs: 2 injured in 2 blasts

Two separate cracker explosions were reported in the district on Thursday night.


Police officials confirmed that one woman was injured in an explosion near GT Road.

SP City Rai Ejaz Ahmed said that a cracker weighing one pound was planted in a green belt along GT Road near the Devdha Railway crossing and injured two women. The bomb disposal squad has seized the fragments of the bomb for investigation.

According to Edhi rescue officials, a woman and her daughter were injured in the explosion. Muhammad Mustafa, along with his wife Kaneez Fatima and daughter Isra (10) was on his way riding a motorbike when both the mother and daughter were injured by the explosion.

The injured were shifted to Divisional Headquarters Hospital where their condition is now stable. Another cracker went off on Thursday night near the Iqbal High School. The bomb exploded under a tree that later caught fire but no one was injured.

Police officials said that the bombs were of the same type and had both gone off within a few minutes of each other.
