IHC bars NAB from investigating Dar
Court notes that NAB didn't inform senate chairman of Dar's arrest, made calculated plans to extradite him

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) barred the country's top graft buster's attempts at extraditing Ishaq Dar, and ordered the investigation to stop on Friday.
Along with the investigation, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has also temporarily stopped trying to have Dar's name put on the Exit Control List (ECL) through the interior ministry. The bureau has also halted their attempts at trying to get Dar back in the country through Interpol.

However, not even a letter of communication was sent to chairman senate Raza Rabbani regarding Dar's arrest. NAB has also decided to turn to the court to ask for permission to bring Dar back through Interpol.
The accountability court has asked for a copy of IHC's orders by January 2.
Earlier this month, an accountability court declared Ishaq Dar a proclaimed offender in a NAB reference after the former finance minister failed to appear before it despite repeated summons.
On September 27, the accountability court indicted Dar for amassing assets beyond his known sources of income and directed the prosecution to produce witnesses and evidence for establishing its case.

Dar had pleaded not guilty and is currently standing trial in the NAB reference filed against him in line with the Supreme Court’s July 28 judgment in the Panamagate case. The court will resume hearing on December 14.
