The court has given orders to the Khairpur DPO on Friday to suspend the Gambat DSP and Ranipur SHO for failing to find the missing Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) city president.
Sindh High Court’s justices Gulzar Ahmed and Shahid Anwar Bajwa were hearing a petition filed by Sakina Chandio, the mother of the Karachi president of JSQM, Ikhtiyar Chandio, who was been missing since 2001.
Ikhtiyar was going from Karachi to Khairpur on March 17, 2001, when his vehicle was intercepted within the precincts of Ranipur police station. He was taken into custody and has been missing since then.
During the previous two hearings, the court ordered the two police officials to either produce the missing man or face suspension. On Friday, the DSP and the SHO told the court that they could not find Ikhtiyar. The judges told the DPO to suspend them immediately. Later, the bench adjourned the hearing till May 19 with orders to the DPO and other respondents to produce Ikhtiyar before the court or face suspension.
