PU VC to head regional reforms committee

LAHORE: South Asia Association of Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Chamber of Commerce and Industry, an apex body in the region, has nominated PU VC Dr Zaffar Mueen Nasir to head its high level “Education Reforms Committee”. The aim of the body is to promote the common education agenda in the South Asian region to improve quality and efficiency in higher education.

The decision was taken by a committee of SAARC Chamber chaired by its President Suraj Vaidya recently at a meeting held in Nepal. The names of other candidates drawn from Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, India, Maldives, Bhutan and Pakistan were considered. Finally, the PU VC was selected through a transparent process for his lifelong academic expertise and vast research experience in the field of education.

SAARC Chamber VP Iftikhar Ali Malik represented Pakistan.
