10 years on: All set to mark BB’s death anniversary

The PPP secretary general said Bilawal remains the heir of the polity of Bhuttos

All arrangements have been made  to observe the 10th death anniversary of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto at Liaquat Bagh on Wednesday, December 27.

PPP President City Chapter Baber Khan Jadoon said Quran Khwani would be held at 1pm and dua would be offered at 5:05pm. The local leadership would attend the ceremony with PPP Divisional President Sardar Saleem Haider, he said.

Jadoon, said speakers would highlight the achievements of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto who struggled for democracy and sacrificed her life for the people of Pakistan. Later, Bhutto lungar (free meal) would also be distributed on the occasion, he said. Meanwhile, PPP Secretary General Nayyer Hussain Bukhari left for Ghari Khuda Bukhsh to attend the 10th anniversary ceremonies of Benazir Bhutto.

Bukhari said Benazir was a stalwart leader and a beacon for the struggle for democracy and human rights.


He said that PPP would continue the mission of it leader who had always preached politics of the federation, rising above provincial, lingual, ethnic and sectarian bias.

The PPP secretary general said Bilawal remains the heir of the polity of Bhuttos and would emerge as a unifying force in the upcoming elections.
