KARACHI:
A judicial magistrate sent on Monday three suspects, including a woman, on police remand in the case of the murder of a school principal, Ambreen Fatima.

The police produced Ali Hassan, the husband of slain Fatima who was shot dead on December 9, his second wife Saher Shams and brother-in-law Balaj before the magistrate to get their physical remand for interrogation.

The investigation officer (IO) submitted that Hassan had killed his first wife as he had secretly married Shams who was forcing him to make their marital status public.

According to the police, Hassan had confessed to shooting Fatima dead. After murdering her, he gave the impression that she was killed by robbers for offering resistance.


Bail granted to suspect in Perween Rahman murder case

According to the IO, Ali murdered his first wife as he was being pressurised by his second wife and brother-in-law to have the 'rukhsati' done.

The court was requested to grant a 14-day physical remand of all the suspects as they were required for further investigation as well as recovery of the weapon used in the offence.

Granting the request, the magistrate sent the suspects on police remand till December 28.
