Extra-curricular activities: UAF holds poster, debate competitions on Quaid

Speakers urge students to get education for bright future

FAISALABAD: The University of Agriculture Faisalabad arranged poster, writing and debate competitions in connection with Quaid Day to pay homage to the founder of the country. The events were arranged at Senior Tutor Office to mark the day.

In the painting competition, Bakhtawar Maqsood from Fine Arts degree programme clinched first position while Anam Afzal from BioChemistry department got second place. The third position was bagged by Huda Sattar from Computer Sciences department.

In the essay writing competition, Saman Meeran clinched first position while Asif Ali secured second position. Iqrar Aslam managed to get third position. In the debate contest, Hamza Tariq from Microbiology department bagged first position, while htasham Akber and Muhammad Rizwan from Forestry and Agri Business departments, secured second and third positions respectively.

While speaking to the students, UAF Vice-Chancellor Prof Muhammad Iqbal Zafar said that under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam, a new state for Muslims emerged on the map of the globe in 1947.

He urged the youth to develop faith, honesty and discipline in their lives as per vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He said, “The country was achieved after great sacrifices and it is our duty to move it to new horizon of development and prosperity.”

Senior Tutor Athar Javed urged the students to get education with dedication to make a better future. He urged them to follow the vision of the Quaid-e-Azam and to work hard with dedication.
