Mahira Khan, Saba Qamar make it to Top Bollywood Debutantes 2017 list
Mahira is the first Pakistani female actor to join Bollywood's 100-crore club
Ind0-Pak collaborations in films have seen the best and worst. With Fawad Khan, Ali Zafar and Mawra Hocane already seen sharing the screens with Indian actors more leading ladies made it to Bollywood this year.
Eastern Eye, a UK-based publication recently announced Mahira Khan and Saba Qamar, hailing from Pakistan, as the top Bollywood debuts of 2017.
Mahira's first Bollywood performance was opposite the King of Romance himself. Starring alongside Shah Rukh Khan in Raees, Mahira was "naturally easy," said film-critic, Anna MM Veticad. Considered as her nation's most popular and highest-paid female actor, she's also the first Pakistani female actor to join Bollywood's 100-crore club.
Another one on the list was Saba Qamar who was seen alongside the multi-talented Irrfan Khan in Hindi Medium. "Saba is a beauty. Her and Fawad might convince Hindi film audiences that Pakistan has cornered a majority share of the world's hotness. Though her character is often hyper, her acting never is - that is a fine line to tread and she pulls it off," said Anna.

Irrfan recalls that he saw Saba's work on Youtube and was instantly mesmerised which is why he recommended her to the director and producer who really liked her as well. He also quoted, "Sometimes the co-actors become very important because your on-screen chemistry plays a vital role in the film."

Saba also shared on Instagram that Hindi Medium made the top 10 Indian films' list on IMDB.

Although Eastern Eye is a renowned publication, we were surprised to not see Sajal Aly's name in the list. The 23-year-old actor also made her Bollywood debut this year alongside Sridevi in Mom and delivered an exceptional performance.
