Japanese Ambassador Takashi Kurai called on Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday to discuss matters of mutual interest, including promotion of bilateral relations and expansion of cooperation. Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said cordial relations existed between Pakistan and Japan and there was a need to adopt effective steps for further promoting trade and economic relations.

There was a great potential of investment in different sectors in the province, including education, health care and energy, he added. Sharif said the most conducive atmosphere had been developed for investment due to the government’s policy of maintaining transparency at every level.
