Murder convict gets life sentence

Judge acquitted the other co-accused giving him benefit of doubt

Additional Sessions Judge Farzana Bashir awarded life sentence to a man in a murder case in Sargodha.

The prosecution told the court that accused Mehran, a student of 10th class, and his friend Talha, had murdered their class fellow Muhammad Rizwan, 15, on July 20, 2016 over a petty dispute. The police arrested them and submitted a challan in the court.

After hearing witnesses, the judge awarded life imprisonment to Mehran. In addition, the court imposed a fine of Rs0.2 million on the convict.


However, the judge acquitted the other co-accused giving him the benefit of doubt.

Earlier, Additional District and Sessions Judge Ikramul Haq awarded life sentence to a convict for killing a man in Sialkot. The prosecution told the court that convict Jamshed had shot dead a passerby Kamran during a clash with his opponents. The police arrested him and submitted a challan in the court.
