PESHAWAR: Despite being called Fata University, most of the slots at the varsity are allegedly filled by personnel who hail from the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

This was claimed by a petitioner who has requested the Peshawar High Court to direct the administration of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) University to give priority to candidates from the tribal areas when hiring employees.

Lawyers for Jaffar Afridi, an employee of the varsity who had filed the petition, told the court that 60 per cent of the posts at the varsity have been filled by people from the settled areas of the province, violating the rights of people from Fata.
