One of the suspects in the Zafir Zubairi murder case has confessed that the prime suspect, Khawar Burney, opened fire on Zafir's vehicle, killing him and injuring his friend.

The suspect, Abdul Raheem, also testified that two other suspects, Hammad and Junaid Shah, fired at the vehicle's windows and stole the victims' mobile phones and cash before fleeing.

Raheem's testimony has added a new charge of theft to the case besides the prime charge of murder.

While driving a car, Zafir had allegedly hit Raheem before he was reportedly chased and shot by Burney.

After identifying Burney in court, Raheem said he had accompanied the alleged murderer to Do Darya in his Vigo on the day of the incident. He added that Hammad and Shah were also present at the scene. According to Raheem, he was driving Hammad's motorcycle when he has hit by Zafir's Mercedes.

Raheem said that after the accident, Burney chased Zafir's car in his Vigo while Hammad and Shah also joined the chase in their red coloured car. Soon he heard the sounds of gunshot from Burney's Vigo after which the Mercedes stopped. Burney got out of his car and checked the Mercedes. Finding out that he had shot someone, Burney fled the scene, said Raheem.

Raheem further testified that Hammad and Shah also fired on the Mercedes, shattering its windows. They later took the boys out of the Mercedes, beat them up and fled after taking their wallets and mobile phones.

According to Raheem's damning statement, Burney and his friends were responsible for Zafir's death.

Murder charges registered against prime suspect in DHA hit-and-run case

According to Raheem, he came to know about Burney's arrest through the media the next day. He claimed that when he went to the police station to record his statement, he was arrested.
