CM Balochistan visits victims of church attack

Zehri promises to rid province of terrorism, says cowardly attacks cannot weaken country's resolve

Balochistan Chief Minster Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri visited the victims of the terror attack on Bethel Memorial Church in Quetta, on Monday, to inquire after the treatment of the injured and meet their families.

While talking to media outside the hospital, the CM reiterated his government's firm commitment to chase terrorists down to their last hideouts in order to wipe them out.

"The cowardly attacks of terrorists cannot weaken our resolve," he said.

The CM also announced compensation of Rs10 million each for the families of the dead, and Rs5 million each for the injured.

"We will provide all available aid to the victims of the incident."


The attack on the church in Quetta left nine people dead and over 50 injured.

"The morale of our security forces remains high. We have promised to provide them with all the weapons they need to fight this enemy," Zehri told reporters.

"The federal government has assured us of all the support we need in this regard."

Praising the professionalism and skill of the law enforcement personnel that carried out the operation against the terrorists, Zehri said that the police forces fought bravely.

"They conducted the operation in 10-15 minutes. One of the young men posted at the church managed to hold the terrorists back for some time," the chief minister informed the media.

"We will rid province of terrorism," Zehri promised.
