DQCBs should work to ‘wipe out spurious drugs’
High level meeting also reviewes the overall performance of District Quality Control Boards

Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir has said that the District Quality Control Boards (DQCBs) of all the districts should play an effective role in eliminating spurious and substandard medicines from the province.
He said that it was the prime responsibility of the government to provide quality medicines to its citizens. “Strict action will be taken against those who are playing with the lives of people,” he added.
He stated this while presiding over a meeting of DQCBs of all the districts on Sunday. Drug Wing Additional Secretary Muhammad Sohail, chief drug controller, DQCBs secretaries of all the districts and other officers concerned attended the meeting.
The meeting reviewed the performances of District Quality Control Boards. Nazir directed the DQCB secretaries to dispose of pending cases of medicines on priority basis.
