All K-P badminton championship opens

The winners and runners-up other categories would be awarded Rs5,000 and Rs4,000 each

PESHAWAR:
The sixth edition of All Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Men and Women Badminton Championship got under way at Tariq Wadood Hall Qayyum Sports Complex on Saturday.

District Govt Sports and Culture Committee Chairman Mian Khan said a total of 150 players from across K-P were taking part in men singles, women singles, men doubles, women doubles, mixed doubles and veteran doubles.

He said the winners of the men singles and women singles will be awarded Rs10,000 each while the runners-up would get Rs7,000 each.


The winners and runners-up other categories would be awarded Rs5,000 and Rs4,000 each.

Mian Khan said the district government will purchase sports equipment worth Rs25 million for distributing to union councils so as to provide youth due opportunities to play.
