Health challenges: Need stressed for collective efforts
Minister says govt is striving to achieve sustainable developments goals through cooperation with the provinces

Collective efforts of all stakeholders are needed to control challenges related to the health sector, said Federal Minister for National Health Services, Regulations, and Coordination (NHSRC) Saira Afzal Tarar. She was addressing the 24th CEOs Conference on Saturday. Provincial Minister for Primary and Secondary Healthcare Khawaja Imran Nazir and other dignitaries were also present. Afzal said the federal government was striving hard to achieve the sustainable developments goals through mutual cooperation with the provinces. She said health was the top priority of the government and it had taken a number of new initiatives for resolving issues related to this very important sector. “We are fighting against poverty, hunger, and disease in line with the manifesto of our party,” she added. The minister also appreciated the decision of the Punjab government for bifurcation of the health department into two parts. She said this decision helped to give more focus on preventive healthcare.
