Court sends prime suspects Abdul Rehman and Khawar Burney on judicial remand

KARACHI: The Zafir Zubairi murder case took another turn on Saturday as Abdul Rehman, one of the prime suspects, confessed to the crime in a written statement. The court sent Rehman and Khawar Burney on judicial remand.

Clifton Police Sub-Inspector Amir Altaf presented the prime suspect of the murder case, Burney, and his security guard Rehman before Judicial Magistrate Nazish Naz. The investigation officer informed the court that Abdul Rehman wanted to file a confessional statement.

Witnesses identify main suspect in Zafir Zubairi case

The court retained the judicial remand of the suspects and recorded Rehman’s statement under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. They were sent back to the jail while the court has asked the investigation officer to present the charge sheet by December 18.

According to the officer, the police needs to locate the car involved in the incident and arrest three other suspects. The court has ordered to wind up the investigation and present the challan of the case.
