Chrysanthemum exhibition kicks off at UAF

More than 100 varieties of flowers have been put on display

FAISALABAD: A three-day Chrysanthemum exhibition began at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF). The exhibition had been arranged by Institute of Horticulture Sciences and was inaugurated by UAF Vice-Chancellor Iqbal Zafar.

Faculty of Agriculture Dean Muhammad Amjad, Institute of Horticulture Sciences Director Amanullah Malik, Faculty of Animal Husbandry Dean Muhammad Sajjad, Faculty of Food Sciences Dean Masood Sadiq Butt, Iftikhar Ahmad and others were also present on the occasion.

AIOU bags top prize at flower show

More than 100 varieties of Chrysanthemum and autumn flowers had been put on display decorated by different educational and research institutes.

Addressing on the occasion, UAF vice-chancellor said that the flowers give a message of love and peace.

He emphasised promotion of positive aspects of floriculture in daily life and provide a forum to hobby gardeners for sharing their ideas and exchanging information with professionals. He said there was a strong relation between plants and environment.

Meanwhile, UAF VC said that trained and skilled manpower having command over effective communication skills will help in alleviating poverty and unemployment from the country.

He said this during the concluding session of a three-day training workshop titled ‘English for Academic Purposes’ which was held at the UAF on Friday.
