Students, faculty and speakers engaged in an academic discussion on bringing the Federally Administered Tribal Areas into the mainstream.

The Department of Governance and Public Policy of the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) Islamabad organised a seminar on “Mainstreaming Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata): Opportunities & Challenges” on Thursday.

NUML Rector Ziauddin Najam emphasized that this was a purely academic discussion. He added that in the 21st century, such social systems were hard to run and thus it was the need of the hour to resolve issues through mutual consultation among all stakeholders.

He hoped that students will learn something new during the debate.

The speakers including Ayaz Wazir, Ajmal Wazir, Brigadier (retired) Syed Nazir, and Salim Safi spoke on the various aspects of the issue.
