Bird’s eye view: Poachers hunt endangered starlings
Local wildlife experts say these birds had been nesting in the area for the past week.
FAISALABAD:
A flock of starlings, an endangered migratory bird, has reached Faisalabad.
In Faisalabad’s Samundari area thousands of starlings have been spotted and local wildlife experts said that these birds had been nesting in the area for the past week.
A large number of people visited the area to see the birds. In spite of a ban on hunting the bird, poachers have been killing the birds in large numbers. Meanwhile, locals have accused the Wildlife Department of ignoring the problem and having failed to protect the birds.
