Bosch official says Pakistan ‘preferred destination’
Inaugurates first home appliances showroom in Lahore
LAHORE:
German companies consider Pakistan a preferred destination for trade and business and its market offers immense potential of bilateral trade, said BSH home appliances FZE CEO Tomas Alonso on Tuesday.
“The country is now one of the emerging economies in the region and with an annual population growth of more than 2%, Pakistan has one of the highest growth rates in Asia”, said Alono while inaugurating the newly established Bosch showroom in Lahore.
Bosch is among the most prominent brands of BSH Hausgeräte GmbH that aims to expand its sales and distribution footprint in Pakistan while also expanding its retailer/distributor network across the country.

“We are aiming to become the number one home appliances supplier in Pakistan by doubling the T/O year-on-year”, he added.
Alonso said that in a country like Pakistan, which has been facing power shortages, it is imperative that hundreds of millions of daily usage household appliances such as refrigerators, oven, dishwashers and washing machines consume less energy, adding that Bosch’s small and large home appliances are energy efficient.
“In a low inflation and high growth economy like Pakistan, there is a growing affluent consumer base, which is forecast to increase by around 6% annually. Both of these factors are having an overall positive effect on local purchasing power,” Alonso stated.
“On account of the growing and young population with a low median age of 22, we see good business opportunities in Pakistan for Bosch in the medium and long term,” said Alonso.
