TEVTA lauds support from Japan

Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) Chairman Irfan Qaiser Sheikh has said the collaboration of Japan International Cooperation Agency and TEVTA has provided technical education to the youth of Punjab. He said the education as at par with Japanese standards.
TEVTA tailors courses to suit industries
He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of JICA led by Mayumi Miyata on Tuesday at TEVTA Secretariat. Sheikh said JICA provided Rs640 million aid for the students of Diploma in Associate Engineering (DAE) which eventually raised the standard of technical education. Machinery worth Rs105 million was also handed over to Government Technical College Faisalabad, he added.
The TEVTA chairman said syllabus of technical education was also reviewed by the experts from Japan. During this collaboration it was focused that the quality and standard of education should remain at par with Japanese standards. He also said that 90% of machinery has been arrived and the remaining would arrive soon.
TEVTA may restart institutes in jails
“TEVTA utilised this fund in a manner that so far 200 instructor and 5,000 students have been benefited. He said special attention was also being drawn towards colleges located in South Punjab.
“We want to enhance this collaboration in future as well. Recently our seven officials got training in Japan but now we want students to go to Japan for further training and studies,” the TEVTA chairman said.
