Musharraf advises Supreme Court to send PML-N govt packing
Ex-military ruler says the incumbent government is dragging the country into chaos and the masses have rejected it
Former military ruler General (retd) Pervez Musharraf has said that people are sick of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government, advising the top court to send them packing.
Speaking on Express News's programme Kal Tak with Javed Chaudhry on Tuesday, the former president said the incumbent government is dragging the country into chaos and the masses had rejected it. He suggested that "it [PML-N govt] should get dissolved."
If the government showed stubbornness then the Supreme Court should intervene and overthrow it, also suggested the ex-military strongman.
I am the 'greatest supporter of LeT', says Musharraf
“The Supreme Court needs to find a constitutional way to do it… everything’s possible. The apex court must empower an interim government to amend the Constitution,” said the two-time accused of violating the Constitution of Pakistan.
Musharraf went on to say that he is ready to stand hand-in-hand with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Dr Tahirul Qadri on a container, referring to a specially-prepared truck used in protest demonstrations of the recent past.
“However, it’s not possible with [PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali] Zardari’s presence [on the container],” he added.
APML to finish off politics of PML-N: Musharraf
He claimed that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was his brainchild, initiated in 2004.
On Sunday, the former president, who is also the chief of All Pakistan Muslim League (APML), had claimed that people would vote for his party and its allies in the next general elections and finish off the politics of the PML-N.
Addressing a meeting of the APML Sindh South region held at Asia Ground in Orangi Town, he had said he was coming to Pakistan very soon.
