Negligent schools to be sealed in Punjab
This was decided at a meeting held the other day
RAWALPINDI:
The District Education Authority has decided to take action against public and private schools, particularly those failing to follow the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) issued by the Punjab government to ensure the security of students. This was decided at a meeting held the other day. Schools violating orders of the government and not putting in place sufficient security arrangements would be sealed. Special teams have been formed to conduct raids and check security arrangements of the schools. The teams would start inspection and monitoring of the schools from Monday. All teams have been directed to compile data of public and private schools at the union council level within a week. The emerging situation after recent attacks had warranted strict measures and necessary directions were also issued from quarters concerned in this regard but it seems it was somehow ignored.
