ISLAMABAD:
A Rawalpindi magistrate has summoned, among others, an assistant registrar of the SC to face trial for allegedly opening fire and critically injuring a man during a violent clash earlier this year.
Judicial Magistrate Muhammad Owais has summoned SC Assistant Registrar Ghulam Ghous and several other office bearers of the SC Employees Cooperative Housing Society (SCECHS) on a complaint filed by the society’s developer and landowner Akash Afzal.
The complainant maintains that he had purchased land in Sector G-17 of the capital and entered into a joint agreement with the SCECHS to develop it for the latter. However, the developer later accused Ghous, who is the president of the society, of embezzling funds and lodged a complaint with the authorities against him.
Afzal maintains that Ghous and several other office bearers of the society visited his office on March 18 this year and clashed with him.
