Blasphemy case: Suspect shot by civilians, later arrested

HANGU:
The police arrested a man for allegedly desecrating the Holy Qur’an in Hangu on Wednesday.
The accused had allegedly burnt copies of the Holy Book in Kotli Bala, Hangu. According to police sources, the alleged accused is a resident of Kotki Bala and has sustained bullet wounds after being fired upon by locals and was admitted to a private health clinic in Hangu for treatment.
The local police have taken the accused into custody to prevent the situation from deteriorating. Hangu Deputy Superintendent of Police Gul Jamal confirmed the arrest, saying a case under Section 295 has been registered against the accused.
