RAWALPIND:
Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) in the wake of its ongoing operation against illegal housing societies has released its new list of 45 housing societies whereas the authority has declared 31 housing schemes falling in its limits illegal.

The authority has advised the public not to invest in these schemes.

Speaking to the media RDA spokesman Hafiz Irfan said that the 31 housing schemes declared illegal were Baber Homes, Paras Villas and Al-Falah Homes, Jinnah Town, Airport Employees CHS, Gulshan-e- Ali, Janjua Town I, Janjua Town II, Janjua Town III,Khyban-e-Millat, Rasool Town, National Town, Khyban-e-Quaid, T&T HousingSociety, OGDC Town, Hamza Town, Sanghar Town, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Fazal Town phaseII, Gulberg Town, Lake Vista Residential Rawal City, Pam City, Jabbar City,Usman Black, Jublee Town, Lawyers Town, Radio Colony, Federation of Employees CHS, Samarzar Housing project, Gulraiz Housing Scheme and Metro Homes.

To a question he said RDA’s Building Control Wing team is regularly conducting operations with the assistance of police against illegal construction which is violation of Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and RDA Building and Zoning Regulations 2007.

RDA DG Talat Gondal had directed the Enforcement Wing to take strict action in accordance with the law against illegal and unauthorised commercial and residential construction and encroachments in the town.
