MULTAN:
Speakers, in a moot held in connection with health convention week, said mortality rate during delivery cases is alarmingly high and there is need to overcome it. They advised people to get services of trained Lady Health Workers (LHWs) instead of quacks for safe delivery and proper care of mothers and their babies. The speakers said that almost 2,000 LHWs were extending the facility of safe delivery in the district. While speaking on the occasion, District Health Authority CEO Dr Shahid Bokhari said the Punjab government had initiated revolutionary steps in the health sector. He added six ambulances were operating round-the-clock for the purpose.
