Unfair treatment: Memon’s lawyer accuses NAB of discrimination
Latif Khosa says some people are 'NAB-zaaday' and some are 'NAB-zada'

Accusing the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) of discrimination, Pakistan People Party’s (PPP) senior leader Sardar Latif Khosa urged state institutions to treat people of all provinces equally.
“Some people are NAB-zaaday [kin of NAB] and some are NAB-zada [victims of NAB],” Khosa said on Wednesday after filing a plea of Sindh former information minister Sharjeel Memon in the apex court.

He said a resolution against the discriminatory treatment by NAB was also tabled in the Sindh Assembly. Khosa obliquely hit out at the former premier and his family members who are also facing NAB references and said: “Some people appear in the courts as if they are attending the royal court.”
Earlier, the apex court’s three-judge bench – headed by Justice Ijaz Afzal Khan – issued notices to NAB on the bail application of Sharjeel Memon, who is accused of graft in awarding bogus advertising campaign worth billions of rupees.
The court extended the interim bail of accused Inam Akbar to the first week of January. The Supreme Court also issued notices to NAB about issuing non-bailable warrants for Akbar.

Giving his arguments before the bench, Memon’s counsel Latif Khosa said NAB was adopting discriminatory treatment with people from Sindh.
“They are arrested and they are not even allowed to travel abroad but NAB has a different attitude with accused from other provinces. Ibrahim Satti, the counsel of the other four co-accused, also made an allusion to the Sharifs and said, “Many people accused of graft are going London and are not arrested.”
The hearing was then adjourned until the first week of January.
