Ahsan Iqbal rewards injured cop
Israr Tanoli of ATS was injured during the operation against the protesters of Tehreek Labbaik
ISLAMABAD:
Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal on Tuesday visited an injured official of Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) and inquired about his well-being. Israr Tanoli of ATS was severely injured during the operation against the protesters of Tehreek Labbaik at Faizabad Interchange. The interior minister announced a cash reward of Rs500,000 for his courage and bravery. Tanoli lost his right eye in an attempt to save the life of an injured. According to media reports, protesters had attacked the law enforcers and at least 15 of them attacked an FC officer with axes. Tanoli ran towards him to save him from the mob. He carried the injured officer on his shoulder to where other troops were present. However, when he was moving with the FC officer on his shoulder the protesters hit him in the eye with stone, damaging it permanently.
