Centaurus land case: CDA to award bonus to its demolition staff

ISLAMABAD:
Capital Development Authority (CDA), has decided to award bonuses to its staff who participated in a massive operation conducted on November 8, 2017 for retrieval of 3.5 acres of land adjacent to the Centaurus Mall which was illegally occupied.

Islamabad Mayor and CDA Chairman Anser Aziz will accord final approval for granting this bonus. This massive operation was successfully conducted by officers and officials of different formations of the authority including officers and officials from Directorate of Municipal Administration, Machinery Pool Organisation (MPO), Environment Wing, Planning Wing, Security Directorate and other concerned formations of the authority.

During the operation, all officers and officials of CDA showed their best professional skills, courage and bravery and retrieved the valuable state land from illegal occupation of the administration of commercial centre. Officers and officials of CDA have faced stiff resistance against management and employees of Centaurus Mall during the operation, while several officers and some Police personnel received minor and major injuries. This operation has not only helped increase the courage of the CDA employees but it has also helped in successful actions against illegal occupation of land and encroachment, especially in Marriot Hotel, Melody Food Park and Malpur area.

On the other hand, people from different walks of life, citizens, media and Islamabad High Court highly appreciated the performance of CDA officers and officials who participated in the mammoth operation.
