Sardar Masood Khan, President Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) said, on Tuesday, that, “Pakistan is incomplete without Kashmir and Kashmir has its identity rooted in Pakistan - the two are inseparable.”

He made the remarks while addressing a forum organised by the Atlantic Council in Washington – one of the prominent think tanks in the US – and Pakistan embassy in Washington on Tuesday.

Masood Khan urged the international community to call upon Indian occupation forces to cease violence and bloodshed in the occupied Kashmir.    He said the world must strongly condemn the brutalities perpetrated by the Indian security forces in the troubled valley.

The voice of the Kashmiri people will never be suppressed as the next generation of Kashmiris have taken it upon themselves to secure their freedom from Indian oppression, AJK President said.

Masood Khan said India would have no choice but to heed to the demands of the Kashmiris, whose sacrifices would never go waste.

In retaliation, people in the disputed Himalayan valley took to the streets and staged protest demonstrations. However, Indian police and security forces opened fire on the protesters to disperse them and injured several.

Kashmir has been divided between Pakistan and India. Both countries claim the valley and have fought two of their three wars over the Himalayan region, which they have disputed since partition and independence from British colonial rule in 1947.
