A local recycling company has initiated production of Poly-Al (polyethylene and aluminium) fabrication sheets, called tuff boards, from used Tetra Pak beverage cartons, says a press release. Tuff boards can be used as roofing sheets and are designed to replace traditional wooden, metal and medium-density fibre-board sheets, owing to their low cost and strength, it said. This sheet costs less than Rs45 per square feet, offering an economical roofing solution for a wide range of applications. Within the first month of its operations, the company received response from dairy farms, new plants, offices and housing complexes.
