ICI seeks power generation licence
Company setting up 15MW coal-based plant in Punjab
ISLAMABAD:
ICI Pakistan has submitted an application to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) for a power generation licence for its 15-megawatt coal-fired power project, says an official.
ICI is setting up the power plant at the Lahore-Sheikhupura Road, Sheikhupura district, Punjab.
Imported coal is the primary fuel to run the power plant. The generation facility consisted of a 15MW steam turbine, two boilers and one generator. Electric power from the plant will be supplied to the load centre of Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco).

The interconnection arrangement consists of three feeders of 11 kilovolts connecting the generation facility to the Lesco grid station. The arrangement is based on the Grid Interconnection Study approved by Lesco.
Yunus Brothers Group, the project sponsors, is one of the largest industrial conglomerates and leading export houses having diversified investments in different sectors including cement, textile, chemicals, real estate development and energy.
