There is a need to make joint efforts on the part of Canadian and Pakistan agricultural institutes to address the challenges of food and nutrition insecurity and to get benefit from each others experiences.

This was said by experts during a meeting held between Canadian delegation with University of Agriculture Faisalabad Vice-Chancellor Dr Muhammad Iqbal Zafar on Friday, a press release issued stated. The three-member Canadian delegation comprised of McGill University’s Associate Professor Dr Jaswinder Singh, Dr Tarlok Singh Sahota from Thunder Bay Agricultural Research Station and Harpinder Singh from Spring Wheat and Triticale Breeding.
On the occasion, Iqbal Zafar said that amid situation of climate changes and ever-increasing population, the agriculture sector was under the grip of different threats.

“It demands concrete efforts of the experts, farming community and research institutions,” he added.
He said, “There is a need to work on specific issues that are haunting the progress of agriculture sector.”
The VC maintained we should learn from each others experiences for the benefits of the mankind.
