Facebook Messenger may soon adopt Snapchat-like 'streaks'
It caused a huge outcry at first but later on, people started using the service and recently, Instagram stories have surpassed their Snapchat counterpart.
On Wednesday, Facebook confirmed to Mashable that it has been testing another popular Snapchat feature -- "Snapchat Streak."
"A lightning bolt may appear next to the name of a person you've messaged with for at least three days in a row, and a counter will indicate how many consecutive days you've been chatting," a Facebook Messenger representative told Mashable.
The tests seem similar to Snapchat but with a few differences. Facebook uses a lightning bolt emoji and a pop-up that reminds the person that their talking streak is about to end and they must keep the conversation going.

Streaks are just a count of how many days you and your friend have been talking for on that particular app.
Users of both Facebook and Snapchat took to Twitter to respond to this feature and gave their view.
They’re trying everything to get people to engage with this, I’d bet.
My entire story feed is empty. Has been since launch.
Dude, it’s 2017. Everything is Snapchat now.
I really feel Facebook is trying its best to fail
Facebook won't let people delete their posts anymore
While some of the users wanted to know if they could pay their attention to some other features that were more important.
How about allowing us to delete multiple Messages from messenger???? How about that?
And that’s another reason to not use messenger…
This feature is still in its testing phase and no confirmation has been made from the team at Facebook as to how long they have been testing this but it seems to have appeared for some users on their Facebook Messenger already.
