HYDERABAD:
Witnesses identified one of the key suspects in the case of the blast at Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar's shrine in Sehwan, which killed around 90 people in February this year, before a judge in a court in Jamshoro district on Thursday. Nadir Ali Jakhrani alias Murshid, who was arrested last week, was produced by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) before the senior civil judge and judicial magistrate.

According to a police official, an unspecified number of suspects identified Jakhrani. In their statements recorded under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, the witnesses stated that they had seen Jakhrani around the shrine at the time of the blast.

After the identification, Jakhrani was given back into the custody of the Karachi CTD, which at a press conference in the city last week had disclosed that four persons, including the suicide bomber, were involved in executing the attack in Sehwan.

Jakhrani told the interrogators that another man involved in the blast, Ghulam Murtaza aka Doctor, was killed in Mastung Balochistan in a clash with law enforcement agencies personnel. Another Punjab-based suspect in the case, Saifullah, is still at large.
