Has Zayn Malik ditched the superstar life to go live on a farm?

Come to think of it, he HAS been somewhat MIA lately...

You might not have noticed but Zayn Malik has beens somewhat MIA lately. His supermodel girlfriend Gigi Hadid has mostly been riding solo while the British-Pakistani heartthrob is nowhere to be seen - not even on social media.

Now don't freak out just yet...the two have not broken up. The reason Zayn hasn't been seen lately is far weirder than that. As it turns out, he has moved to the middle of nowhere to um, milk cows and try to find some peace in the farm life.

Yup, you read that ride. In a recent interview with Billboard, the usually media-shy singer openly admitted to his need to decompress away from the public eye and live a temporary life of simplicity. “I’m taking things at my own pace, eating well, not going too crazy,” explained the former One Direction member. “I'm making sure we have dinnertime.”

For reasons unbeknownst to us common folk, this meant Zayn spending most of summer and fall on a "working farm" in rural Pennsylvania with a private studio nearby if any musical inspiration strikes.

“The farm is just out of the way and feels grounded,” said the Pillowtalk hit-maker. “There’s not a lot of things around. I do a lot of farm work. Yeah, yeah, I take the horses out and feed the cows and that kind of stuff. It’s cool. I’ve always been interested in animals.”

Perhaps Zayn is enjoying the farm life so much because it reminds him of his hometown in the English countryside. He's had a "rotating group of friends, family, and collaborators" join him in Pennsylvania on and off to revel in the laid-back life.

And thankfully, this elite farm crew includes everyone's sweetheart Gigi, or as Zayn puts it, his lady love. “It helps that Gigi is really organised. Thank God! Because I’m really not, so she helps organise my schedule around seeing her."
