Spring Splash: Fun-filled competitions kicked off

Students of Preston University participated in the first day of a week-long festivity “Spring Splash 2011”.

ISLAMABAD: Students of Preston University participated in the first day of a week-long festivity “Spring Splash 2011” on Monday with inter-university badminton and table tennis competitions.

Held at the Pakistan Sports Complex, the opening match of the tournament was played between Federal Urdu University and Preston University.

In his inaugural address on the occasion, Chancellor Preston University Dr Abdul Basit said Preston University has always attached immense significance to extra curricular activities.

He said the inter-university competitions will provide students a unique opportunity to unleash their talents in activities other than education. He called upon the students’ community of the country to focus on sports and other extra curricular activities.

The competitions include badminton, table tennis, business planning, bilingual debate, qirat, essay writing, dramatics, singing and cultural dressing.
