Several testimonies of moon sighting received from Zhob, Jiwani, Karachi, Multan and Kalat

The Rabiul Awwal moon has been sighted and Eid Miladun Nabi will fall on Friday, December 1, Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman announced on Sunday.

The announcement was made following a meeting of the moon-sighting committee in Karachi, Express News reported. Scholars from all schools of thought as well as astronomical experts were present at the meeting.


The committee received several testimonies of moon sighting from different parts of the country including Zhob, Jiwani, Karachi, Multan and Kalat.

Rabiul Awwal 1, 1439H will start from November 20, 2017. The ministry of religious affairs later issued a notification in this connection.

Eid Miladun Nabi is celebrated by organising rallies and decorating homes, buildings, mosques and shrines with lights.
