These views were expressed by the mayors who participated in mayors’ conference. The mayors’ conference was held in accordance with Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s vision. Bahawalpur Mayor Aqeel Najam Hashmi along with Lahore’s mayor Col (retd) Mubashir Javed, Gujranwala’s mayor Sheikh Sarwat Ikram, Multan’s mayor Chaudhry Naveedul Haq, Sahiwal’s mayor Asad Ali Baloch, DG Khan’s mayor Shahid Hameed Chandiya, Gujrat’s mayor Haji Nasir Mehmood and Sargodha’s mayor Malik Aslam Naveed participated in the conference.

In their joint statement issued on Saturday, mayors from across the province, stressed implementation of the Punjab local government’s act resolution of problems of area within the available resources and take significant steps in the provision of facilities to the public.
Mayors of other cities appreciated this step of Bahawalpur’s mayor Aqeel Najam Hashmi which gave them an opportunity to gather all the mayors under one roof by organising such a conference where all the mayors presented their suggestions for the provision of facilities within the available resources.

The statement said efforts would be made to provide every possible facility in their respective areas by 2025 using the available resources.
Guest mayors felt the need for the organising such mayors’ conferences to discuss administrative steps and presenting suggestions and decided that such conferences would be held in their respective cities.
