LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore has sought details of the accounts and properties of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leaders Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Pervez Elahi.

A NAB official told The Express Tribune on the condition of anonymity that a case had been filed against the brothers for owning properties valuing more than their known sources of income.

He said that letters had been written to various banks, commissioners, deputy commissioners, the Lahore Development Authority and other departments, seeking details of their properties and accounts.

The investigator said that the Chaudhry brothers appeared before a Lahore NAB investigation team on November 6 and filled a questionnaire related to details of their properties, besides answering questions for 90 minutes.

The investigator said that letters were sent out to fill in any gaps that may have been left during the investigation or in the questionnaire filled on November 6.

An inquiry was reopened in over 170 cases lodged against the Chaudhry brothers during the Musharraf’s regime after the approval of NAB Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal.
