ISLAMABAD: Police claimed to have arrested three people involved in preparing forged No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for using tinted glasses on vehicles, a police spokesman said on Friday.

Following few reports, Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Sajid Kiani assigned the task to SP (Industrial Area) Liaqat Hyat Niazi to ensure arrest of those issuing fake NOCs for use of tinted windows on vehicles.

SP Liaqat Hyat Niazi constituted a special team headed by of Noon police station SHO Inspector Nazar Muhammad Qureshi, sub-inspectors Malik Mumtaz, Umer Hyat and Constable Abdul Majeed.

This police team intercepted two cars during special checking at Jhangi Syedan and asked drivers Nemat Ullah and Tahir Khan about reason of using tinted windows. They purportedly showed police team NOCs issued by interior ministry. The documents were found bogus after verification. Later, the two men confessed to have prepared these NOCs and police team arrested one of their accomplice identified as Hasnain Shah. Cases have been registered against them and further investigation was underway to arrest their other accomplices.

Meanwhile, ASI Muhammad Rasheed from Kohsar police arrested Atif Ali for having stolen mobile, while SI Muhammad Nawaz nabbed bootlegger Qasiar besides recovering 10 litre homemade liquor from him. SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani has appreciated this performance and directed all police officials for effective policing measures in their respective areas.
