Health sector reforms: ‘Resources worth billions are used to provide best healthcare’

CM says new hospitals will be established under public-private partnership

A high-level meeting was held for progress on health projects and state of implementation on health sector reforms programme.

Addressing the meeting, the chief minister said that resources worth billions of rupees were being utilised for providing qualitative and latest healthcare facilities to the ordinary people. He expressed  satisfaction that people were getting these facilities due to the completion of mega health projects.

He said that latest central pathology labs will be set up in Lahore and Multan while small labs will also be established in the hospitals which will be connected with the central lab through satellite. The facility of every sort of test will be provided in these labs having an automated system. The lab information management system will also be provided in these labs.


He said the project of establishment of the central lab was very important and it should be moved further with speed. He said that road show should also be held with regard to the establishment of pathology labs and added that speed of work on different ongoing health projects be further accelerated. He said that new hospitals will be established in the province under the public-private partnership model in future.

The chief minister said that hepatitis control programme was very important for helping people to remain safe from this deadly disease and this programme should be effectively implemented.

He expressed satisfaction that the program of providing medicines to the hepatitis patients at their doorsteps was in progress successfully. Meanwhile, the hepatitis filter clinics will be upgraded in the teaching hospitals and where there was need to establish new and bigger filter clinics, the work should be started there immediately.
