Tourist resort to be set up in Rawalpindi 

“Only effective promotion can bring fruitful results”, says PTDC MD

ISLAMABAD:
Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) would set-up a tourist resort in Rawalpindi on the pattern of the Ottoman-Mughal style, PTDC MD Abdul Ghafoor told APP on Wednesday.

“Several projects have been launched for the development of tourism in the country,” Ghafoor said, adding that these include establishment of motels in Hawks Bay Karachi, Mohenjodaro, Baran Kalay (KP) and tourist facilitation centres in Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Muzaffarabad, Gilgit, Quetta and Peshawar. “Only effective promotion can bring fruitful results,” he added.

He said PTDC is promoting country’s natural resources and tourism treasures over the media across the world, for tourism to thrive in the country. He assured that the recommendations of PTDC will be presented at provincial and federal levels so that all possible support can be provided.
