Two girls die as roof collapses in Mohmand due to rain
Most of agency braves downpour without any power
SHABQADAR:
Two girls died while four others were injured in two separate incidents of roofs collapsing due to rain in Mohmand Agency.
The incident took place even as most of Mohmand and Shabqadar faced the worst kind of load shedding during the rains.
An official of the political administration in Mohmand said that late on Tuesday, in the Sami Khel area of Haleemzai Tehsil, the roof of a house caved in.
In the house, Niaz Ali’s wife and two daughters were sleeping in their room. Owing to the roof collapse, Ali’s two daughters were crushed to death under the debris, while his wife was injured.
Locals rushed to the spot and pulled out the dead and injured.
In another incident, a wall collapsed in the Kamali Haleemzi area on Wednesday. The debris fell on top of Usman, Rahat Shah, and Sajjid. They were rushed to the agency headquarters hospital in Ghallani for treatment.
An official of the political administration distributed money to pay for the funeral of the dead apart from giving the affected families food items and tents for shelter.
Meanwhile, power supply to Mohmand and Shabqadar has been suspended by TESCO and PESCO for over 24 hours.
