Giving in to protesters, instead of opening the public thoroughfare, SSP Traffic Malik Matloob Hussain has appealed to the citizens to use alternative routes to avoid any inconvenience.
The TYLRAP supporters were pelting stones on people approaching the Faizabbad Intersection, so instead of protecting life and property of the citizen, they have been advised to cower away from the miscreants holding the federal capital hostage. The SSP said that the heavy traffic from Lahore should take alternative route toward Rawalpindi from Rawat T Cross. Heavy traffic from Peshawar will be diverted to Motorway from Chungi No26.
Faizabad is closed for traffic from all the four directions, he said. Both sides from Rawal Dam Chowk to Faizabad are close. Therefore, commuters should use Park Road, Taramri, Lehtarar and Expressway from Rawal Dam Chowk, the senior police official explained. According to the traffic advisory, both lanes of the road from Zero Point to Faizabad are closed for traffic. Citizens can use Kashmir Highway, Ninth Avenue and IJP Road. Both lanes of Express Highway are shut from Khanna Bridge to Faizabad.
Citizens coming to Islamabad from Koral should use Lehtarar Road from Khanna Bridge and Park Road from Taramri and Rawal Dam Chowk. oth sides of Ninth Avenue are closed from IJP Road to Faizabad, therefore, the citizens should use Kashmir Highway via IJP Road and Faqir Eppi Road. Similarly commuters should use Kashmir Highway via Ninth Avenue from IJP Road.
Those travelling from Rawalpindi to Islamabad through Murree Road should use Ninth Avenue through Stadium Road from Muree Road or they can use Rawal Dam Chowk via Karal Khanna Bridge, Lehtrar Road, Taramri, Park Road.
Dhokri Suhrawa Serena Chowk towards France Turn is close on both sides. Those going to Red Zone, Secretariat and Diplomatic Enclave can go via Embassy Road, NADRA Chowk to Radio Pakistan Chowk or Margla Road. Foreign VIPs, foreign VIP delegates can use Ninth Avenue Margala Road and Faisal Avenue for commuting. Those going from Rawalpindi to Aabpara Secretariat F-6, F-7 Super Market and Jinnah Super G-5 can use Kashmir Highway from Ninth Avenue to Shaheen Chowk, Margalla Road or Zero Point Faisal Avenue and similarly commuters coming from Islamabad Chowk can use Margala Road via G-11 Signal service road.
